Domestic Flights - Indigo Airlines

Indigo is a low-cost private domestic airline based in Gurgaon in India that links 22 domestic destinations. Its main hub is Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Operated by InterGlobe Aviation Pvt. Ltd., the airline commenced its operations on 4 August 2006 with a service from Delhi to Imphal via Guwahati. With 147 daily flights across the country, the airline operates through all the major destinations such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Goa, Chennai and many more.

The airline primarily focuses on the budget carrier segment in India. Being a low-cost carrier, complementary meal services are not offered to its passengers. However, the passengers can avail buy-on-board food service where items such as sandwiches, parathas, cookies, nuts, soft drinks, and mineral water can be purchased.

The airline currently runs a fleet size of 22 aircrafts and further plans to extend it to 40. The carrier has also sought the Civil Aviation Ministry’s approval to fly on international routes once it completes the mandatory five years period of domestic operations.

The airline was awarded the title of ‘Best Domestic Low Cost Carrier’ in India for 2008.
